Sustainability at St Peter's

At St Peter’s, we believe that every child has a role to play in protecting our planet and shaping a greener future. Caring for the environment is woven into our values, and we are proud to be recognised as an Eco School Green Flag with Merit – a fantastic achievement that celebrates the dedication of our pupils and staff.

Our sustainability journey is led by Miss Hutton, our Sustainability Leader, alongside our dedicated Sustainability Link Governor - Catrin Chan. Together, they work hand-in-hand with our enthusiastic Eco Squad – a group of passionate pupil representatives who drive change across the school.

The Eco Squad plays a key role in helping us develop and deliver our sustainability action plan, ensuring that our school community makes thoughtful, climate-friendly choices. From reducing waste and saving energy to encouraging biodiversity and promoting recycling, our children are actively learning how small steps can lead to big change.

We are committed to:

  • Embedding sustainability into everyday school life.

  • Raising awareness of climate change and environmental issues.

  • Empowering pupils to take responsibility for their world.

  • Working towards long-term goals that reduce our environmental impact.

At St Peter’s, sustainability isn’t just a project – it’s part of who we are. We are incredibly proud of our Eco Squad’s achievements so far and excited about the difference we can continue to make together.

The reports from our latest Ofsted and our SIAMS inspection are available to view on this website. We are very proud of the outcomes of both!
