We support a number of different charities each year. Charities rely on fundraising for a large percentage of their income, but it's not just about the money. Fundraising can also help promote a charity's message and goals, encouraging others to get involved and spread the word.
Children have an inspiring amount of empathy and an almost innate willingness to help others. Getting our children involved with fundraising efforts not only benefits the charities they care about, it also helps us to instill values like compassion and generosity and empowers them to make a difference in their world.
Our children completed a whole host of activities and enjoyed dressing up. They raised a grand total of £391 for Children in Need!
Our whole school community rallied together and made very generous donations to our Harvest Festival. The children chose to donate the food to St Catherine's Church Food Bank.
Our amazing families raised a massive total of £442.53 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Our entire school community donned some reindeer antlers and ran 1 mile during our Reindeer Run fundraising event in aid of Wakefield Hospice. Santa even paid us a visit to say how well we had done!
Upon hearing about what was happening in Ukraine, our pupils unanimously decided that rather than raising funds for school during our World Book Day event, they would like to donate the money to the British Red Cross 'Ukraine in Crisis' Appeal. Who was I stop them? What fantastic, generous, thoughtful pupils we have here at Stanley St Peter's! We raised a whopping £333.80 in total. Well done everyone!
These very special Y5 pupils felt compelled to help the people of Ukraine even further. They wanted to organise a Bake Sale in order to fundraise for the British Red Cross 'Ukraine in Crisis' Appeal. They produced posters to advertise their event, baked their hearts out and even sold some of their own unwanted toys. They raised an enormous £220! Well done!
Our entire school participated in a Sponsored Fitness Circuit with Sports For Schools. A portion of the money raised will be donated to support Olympians and Paralympians for Great Britain and a portion will be used by the school to buy sports equipment. I will keep you updated as to how much was raised as soon as I know!
The Power of Community
We believe that our school should play a central role in our community and that we have the power to enhance and change lives. We want to promote community cohesion and bring everyone together. Through parental and community involvement, we strive to enhance the learning for both pupils and adults.
