Operation Encompass

We are very pleased that we are linked to the Operation Encompass Scheme.

Operation Encompass is a unique Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools before the start of the next school day when a child or young person has been involved or exposed to a domestic abuse incident the previous evening.

The information is given in strict confidence to a school’s Key Adult to enable support to be given dependent on the needs and wishes of the child.

Further information about the scheme is detailed on the Operation Encompass website.

Safeguarding

Stanley St Peter's is committed to safeguarding and the well-being of the children and expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  As such, we would like to clarify our procedures for the collection of children:  In the first instance the parent/carer of the child is always preferential; however, if  you need your child to be collected by others, please send a signed, written parental permission letter to school naming any authorised persons.  If we do not hold a permission letter specifically stating that the person is authorised to pick up your child, your child will not be released into their care.

Please note that all parents and carers are expected to ensure that the school holds at least two up to date emergency contact numbers for their child/children.

The Designated Safeguarding Leads for Stanley St Peter's are:

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child, you can approach any member of staff as all our staff have been trained in Safeguarding Procedures.  They will then report the case to Miss Wiggins.

If you would prefer to contact Miss Wiggins directly, you can do so either by emailing on mwiggins@stanleystpeters.co.uk or by calling the school office on 01924 663641 (please state that you have a safeguarding concern when you call).

You can also report your concerns to Social Care Direct on 0345 8503503.
If a child is at risk of immediate harm, please contact the police.
