Personal Development

At Stanley St Peter’s CE Primary School, we believe that helping children to grow as people is just as important as helping them to achieve academically. Personal development is at the heart of everything we do. It runs through our whole curriculum and daily school life, shaping the way our children learn, play, and interact with others.

Through our rich and carefully planned curriculum, we help children to develop confidence, kindness, resilience and respect. We teach them to take pride in who they are, to value others, and to make positive choices. From teamwork in PE and problem-solving in maths, to exploring emotions in PSHE and celebrating diversity in collective worship, every experience helps our pupils to grow in character as well as in knowledge.

We also plan special opportunities and enrichment experiences that help children to build their cultural capital — giving them the knowledge, skills and confidence to take their place in the wider world. These include educational visits, visitors to school, themed days, community projects, and a wide range of clubs and activities.

At Stanley St Peter’s, we know how important music, art, drama and dance are for helping children to express themselves, to think creatively, and to experience the joy of performance. Whether they are performing in a play, joining the choir, or displaying their artwork, our children learn to appreciate and take part in the richness of culture around them.

At our school, personal development isn’t something separate from our curriculum — it is the golden thread that runs through all that we do. We are proud to help our children grow into happy, confident, and caring individuals, ready for the next stage of their journey and for the opportunities life will bring.

The St Peter's Promise

The reports from our latest Ofsted and our SIAMS inspection are available to view on this website. We are very proud of the outcomes of both!
