8:50-9:05 Morning work, dinners, and register
9:05-9:20 Handwriting
9:20-9:45 Key English Skills (Year 1), Monday and Friday spelling session (Year 2-6), Tuesday-Thursday guided reading (Year 2-6)
9:45-10:15 Maths (first session)
10:15-10:30 Collective worship
10:30-11:00 Maths (SDI session)
11:00-11:15 Break time (children to take their snacks outside)
11:15-12:15 Phonics (Monday-Friday) or English (Monday-Thursday), whole class guided reading/spelling test (Friday)
12:15-1:15 Lunch time
1:15-1:30 Speed Sounds (Monday-Friday) or ERIC Time (Everyone Reading In Class) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and spelling session Wednesday
1:30-3:05 Science and non-core subjects
3:05-3:25 Class novel time
3:30 Home time
Our school day is 6 hours and 40 minutes long. The total time per week this amounts to is 33 hours and 20 minutes, which more than fulfils the recommended teaching time set by the DfE of 32.5 hours per week.
