 School Council Charter

We ,the members of the School Council, agree that we will:

Listen to all suggestions and ideas.

Feedback and discuss ideas from Council meetings to our classes.

Always respect other people’s opinions and points of view.

Always work together as a team.

Set a good example, be reliable and responsible.

Our School Council is made up of elected students from each class. The purpose  of the council is to represent the views and opinions of our children on a number of issues and for them to be able to debate and have a positive impact on the daily life of our school. These issues may include school meals, after school activities, school equipment and school and community fundraising.

Here are some of the pledges of this year's council:

  • I want to make the school a better place.
  • I would like to help other children achieve their goals.
  • I wanted to join the council to help children in school to be happy and make sure they get what they need.
  • I wanted to be one the school council because I want to help others and poor children in other countries.
  • I want to help make money for different charities to to help people in the world have clean water.

Our Big Me day on 14th October, 2016

Our newly elected school council  did an amazing job organising  the Action Aid `Big Me’ day.  Every class really got involved and the outfits were amazing!! We managed to raise an amazing £174.21 which is enough to buy a donkey for a family to use to go to market. It is definitely a day we will want to repeat as not only is it fun, but it also gets children to think inspirationally about their future.

You can find out more about ActionAid and Big Me at actionaid.org.uk/big-me.

School Council Achievements so far:

Levi Star memorial plaque and revamp of the school quad.
